Dr. Earney F. Lasten PhD:

My teaching experience spans over 30 years (family businesses, public and private sectors), encompassing a diverse range of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in various countries (USA, Aruba, Curacao, Colombia, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates). I have consistently demonstrated a passion for engaging students, fostering a collaborative learning environment, and tailoring my instruction to meet the unique needs of each learner. I am particularly proud of my success in incorporating technology and active learning techniques to enhance student engagement and promote deeper understanding of the subject matter.

My dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion is deeply rooted in my personal and professional experiences. I believe that creating an inclusive learning environment is essential for fostering intellectual growth and preparing students to succeed in a globalized world. I have actively participated in initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion within my previous institutions, including serving as a mentor for underrepresented students and organizing workshops on cultural competency.

Viamoon Technical College has 5 members on the Board of Directors. Each member is elected to a 2 year term, and all members serve at-large.

The purpose of the Instructional Leadership Team is to facilitate communication and coordination among instructional divisions of the college. The team also makes recommendations regarding curricular and academic matters.
